I didn't exactly think that the latest advocate of the Peak Oil hypothesis would be... ChevronTexaco. (Interesting fact: A Chevron oil tanker is named after Condoleeza Rice.) They don't come right out and say it, but the ad campaign they're starting is all about how quickly we're using up the remaining oil.
We've now got a number of the smaller oil companies openly talking about the coming scarcity of oil - even if Shell is being a dick about renewable mascots. Exxon is still pretending that there's no problem, however, and they really are the 800-pound gorilla. I wonder if Bush would rather listen to one large company, or several dozen smaller ones. Of course, the Saudis continue to insist that there's no problem, so I guess that's that.
