So Rumsfeld's out - which means that outside of the Prez and VPrez, Condoleeza Rice is the old hand in the Bush Administration... AH!
Rumsfeld's replacement is Robert Gates, the former director of the CIA. He's a pal of Poppy's, apparently.
Here's the thing - Gates also was involved in the Iran-Contra scandal. If I was a Republican President about to submit to two years of inquiry and interrogation by the Congress, I might pick someone who wasn't connected to the worst Republican scandal since Watergate.
