Five years too late

CNN's running that Rumsfeld is stepping down. Thanks be to Jesus and the Democrats.

Of course, the timing of the firing implies pretty fucking clearly that a) Rumsfeld is, in fact, acknowledged as incompetent by the President, and b) Bush kept him around anyway because he thought he could get away with it.

Up next: Cheney. Two more years for him to discover "health problems".

...this reminds me to say something: We should all expect Bush's numbers to go up post-election. I don't expect him to see the high side of 50 anytime soon, but the mid-40s are probable. A lot of Republicans will say they support "Bush" even if they don't actually support anything he's done.
