via Voice in the Wilderness, I read that all is not as it seems with the Conservative "boycott" of Parliamentary Committees.
The Conservatives are apparently boycotting all committees except one: The committee debating the same-sex marriage bill. Needless to say, if the Conservatives did leave the committee, the bill would move quickly to the House floor.
Unbelievable. Apparently, Stephen Harper's "constitutional" values are worth less than his hatred of gays. Nice to know.

They hate gays because they have follow a religion?
It is against their religion and their values to let gays marry.
You sir, are a dumbass.
Woo. Dumbass. The pain.
I don't care about their religion - they don't want gays in their churches, that's fine - gays probably aren't showing up at their services, anyway.
But their religion doesn't get to decide issues of law and equality in this country. Keep the religion where it belongs - in the church.
Or, as one hippy-type put it, "Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's".
I love that fallback on relgion, eh?
Funny, I don't remember Jesus publishing any hate-lists. You get the feeling plain old fallible non-divine humans might have drafted a copy for him?
Absolutely. What's next - banning blood tranfusions so as not to offend Jehovah's Witnesses?
