The stupidest guy on the planet today

Oh boy. I know the title was already taken for (grrr, Doug Feith) but jeebus is Tony Blair dumb. Three different data points:

• Blair knew there was no planning for the post-war phase in Iraq, but insisted -- against Bush's suggestions! -- that the UK contribute troops anyway.
• Jacques Chirac warned Blair that there would be a civil war in Iraq. Blair's response: "Poor old Jacques, he doesn't get it, does he?"
• Finally, Blair feared that if he didn't go along in Afghanistan, the US would go in and "nuke the shit out of the place."

I'm tempted to be sympathetic to Blair on the last count -- on 9/11 itself, I too was scared that Bush would go nuclear. But unlike Blair, I was never under any illusions that I could have stopped it.
