Huh?

via TPM reader DK, Brian Williams described the Non-Aligned Movement summit in Havana as a meeting place for "America's biggest enemies" on NBC's Friday netcast.

Excuse me? You can get a list of the NAM's members here, and let's just say it's not an alliance of super-powers. Indeed, some members are America's staunchest supporters and biggest recipients of military aid (Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Colombia, Indonesia, and the Phillipines.)

The NAM can rightly be criticized for having been a minor cat's-paw for the USSR during the Cold War, and perhaps it would be more credible if Ahmedinejad hadn't shown up. But calling it a group of "America's biggest enemies" does nothing except make America look paranoid and extremist.
