I've long wondered why some people bring their laptops to class. Sure, the professor can't tell if you're playing solitaire while he's speaking, but why even bother to come to class if all you're going to do is goof off? (Yes, I'm apparently 62.)
On the other hand, it never occurred to me that I could play Super Mario Bros. 2 in class. That game in particular has a certain attachment to me, as it was the first videogame I ever finished all the way through. It was really fun to watch some guy a few rows ahead of me finish off the boss (Wart, a bubble-spewing lizard), though I think I could've done better if he'd let me play.
On top of that, some evil genius has made a mash-up of the Uma/Gogo fight scene from Kill Bill and Super Mario Bros sounds. Brilliant.
And while I'm at it, if you've got 15 minutes or so, watch this video on why us honkies get all the fine asian girls. Very funny.

In highschool, I would usually have my sketchbook in class, and I would be sketching while the teacher spoke. I wasn't really goofing off, since I was still listening - I was just never big on taking notes, and this kept my hands busy while I listened.
Then again, maybe they are goofing off, but why miss important announcements about assignment extensions?
