US Court Strikes Down Broadcast Flag
This might not change anything - the NAB is probably just going to get a law passed to replace the struck FCC regulation. But these battles have tended to go well for the good guys when they happen in the public eye - witness the FCC's change in ownership rules a few years back.
(The broadcast flag, for those who don't know, is basically an anti-copying code written in to a digital broadcast to "prevent piracy". It would also, by definiton, give broadcasters a veto over whether or not you could tape their programming. It's a huge expansion of power in to your living room, and should be fought.)
As always with such matters, the EFF has more.
