Bush Caves In To Tyranny

Okay, the timing on this is just too good. Remember back when Bush said that the US would never again "repeat the mistakes of other generations, appeasing or excusing tyranny, and sacrificing freedom in the vain pursuit of stability..." You remember, way back yesterday?

Well, that statement had a shelf life of less than 48 hours. The US, after spending (or wasting) literally years on refusing to negotiate directly with Pyongyang or recognize North Korean sovereignty, has finally acceded to these two simple, commonsense demands.

Damn. So, Bush's strong stand against tyranny? Mayonnaise lasts longer in the sun.

The real question is why this was such a dealbreaker in the first place. I mean, I can kind of understand the reluctance to shake hands with crazy old Kim, but not recognizing North Korean sovereignty? Is this really that hard?

The other big question is how many other areas of international affairs Bush will have to be proven an absolute moron before the impeachment proceedings begin.
