- One: What is it with Republican presidents and audio recordings? Dude, the phone's not supposed to click like that!
- Two: Is their an important moral distinction between someone who discriminates out of conviction and one who discriminates for political gain? If anything, the latter is a worse human being, in my eyes.
- Three: I hate to play the "Democrats do it too" card, but, well, Democrats do it too. And not just small-time red-staters, either: Bill Clinton is known to have advised Kerry to run against gay marriage in the south. Kerry ignored the advice of one of his party's standard-bearers, and lost the election. It doesn't make up for much, but at least we know who the better man is.

We Do It Too
So apparently a confidant of Bush taped phone conversations with him back in 2000, which has led some to believe that Bush isn't really a homophobe, but just a political opportunist. Three points:
