CBC is reporting that a major influence in the anti-equality lobby is the American group Focus on the Family (the same group which recently launched a jihad against Spongebob Squarepants.) Now, aren't there laws about foreign nationals influencing domestic politics? Shouldn't there be? Can we lock up some of these people on charges of treason?

While I hate FOTF as much as the next guy, it might not be such a bad thing that they're weighing in on gay marriage in Canada. This is fight that they can never win. In fact, they've already lost. There's already gay marriage in Ontario, Quebec, BC, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Nova Scotia & Yukon. They can take out all the full page ads in the Globe that they want, it'll just be a big waste of money. And bill C-38 will probably pass anyway.
